The Oxford Summer Schools at Magdalen College, University of Oxford run for five weeks during July into August and are designed to offer North American students direct experience of Oxford’s traditional approach to university education, a programme running successfully since 1978.
The programmes build on over 40 years of strong links with partner universities, maintained by regular and direct contact with faculty and international offices in the USA. The summer school has become a formative moment in the lives of thousands of delighted students
Academic Courses, designed and taught by Fellows and Lecturers of the University originally at St Peter's College and their associates with overseas students in mind, have a British and European focus. Applicants must be registered for undergraduate or graduate degrees at their home university or college.
Oxford Colleges usually house an atmospheric Dining Hall, Chapel, tutors’ studies, specialist teaching, library and IT facilities, public rooms and administrative offices, located alongside central but often older student study-bedrooms – all reflecting the medieval origins of Oxford’s collegiate system.
